• PS3 Firmware 3.10 out

    PS3 Hacks , 18.11.2009

    The newest PS3 firmware is out, new updates below:

    • Photos: Photos will now be displayed in a grid format for simplified access and viewing.
    • Friends List: The PlayStation Network Friends List has an enhanced design that enables users to customize the background color of their PlayStation Network Profile.
    • Facebook Integration

      There is never going to be ps2 integration on the ps3 anymore. In order to cut down on the price they removed the hardware and there wont be a software emulation either. If you really want to play ps2 games you can get a ps2, they are real cheap now a days.

      I feel you on that, I want the PS2 backwards capability as well, that is one of the main reason I got the PS3 among it doing other things. Come on Sony don't let me down

      We need upgrade on the compatibility for PS2 games too, for us peeps with software emulation :/ Not to mention we need options to decrease the size of font, which is larger since 3.0 which sucks large greasy bananas, if you ask me. That and many other annoying crap... I don't even use bloody FB, who needs that?! :/ I don't want it on my PS3!

      facebook really suxs ... wen the lions balls are they going 2 make us play music and play a ps3game....or even full multitasking u know.....suspend games while u watch a movie or watch porn while playing.....not saying i watch porn..bt dnt lie..that wud be quite kewl hey lol...

      Haha well some games support music while playing, some only during some gameplay modes, and the rest doesn't, but oh well... We can all turn some other music device on while playing. Still... at least to be able to check pictures while playing would be nice, sheesh!

      PS3 froze when on the internet. Reset, there's now a report system, sends some system information to Sony. It's a bit like disc-check on Windows. 'The PS3 wasn't turned off properly, this may be due to .............. would you like to send the data to Sony?'

      YO, first post in awhile......... Anyways, I agree with the music playback feature being added to more games, I seriously wanna listen to my music while playing "GOOD GAMES" not sh*tty ones, who the F%#k needs FaceBook, seriously wtf is Sony trying to do!?!, What's next? Online Dating for the PS3...... Can someone tell me if there's anything good/bad about this update..... Peace Yall, see ya in another year..

      I liked all the things they have in this update.
      I use facebook and would love to show my progress in games to my friends.
      And I really liked the thing about friend list.. that we can choose our colors. It is cool. Hope they add some new avatars soon..

      Just another useless update from Sony for the PS3. These updates are just starting to be bloatware. Just another reason to fill up one's HDD space. Come on' Sony let's release some useful updates.

      Firmwares are stored on the NAND (only the 40/80/120GB ones require a fixed amount of space which doesn't change)

      Same thing happened to me. I had to set all my settings, info and add my PSN account back...

      Actually Sony filed a patent not so long ago to allow all ps3's to run ps2 games via an emulator no need for the extra hardware, so its definately in the pipeline!

      They patented an EE emulator, it's already in 60GB PAL PS3s, so it's nothing new.

      I really am sick of updating the ps3 for minor changes which aren't really needed ion the first place. Come on Sony... Make the changes optional, and give us some phat changes, which not only 30% of the users want.. No one could for instance argue against more in-game music support, shouldn't be available, If 2% don't want in game music, give us the option to disable it ... and btw. let us be able to customize the font size aswell, it isn't nuisance to you...!!!!

      I do have a Org. 80 GB HDD PS3. Not those crappy 120 Gb they came out with and so slim line crap they released awhile back. My PS3 is 2 years now.

      Hi friends,
      Spotify on the PS3 would be pretty cool, I'm not really into Last.FM. Nice to see the way Facebook is integrated with the PS3 and the PSN, I was hoping that is what the 360 would do with Facebook and Twitter but it let me down on that front. Nobody should complain about free updates though, I'm just happy that they're giving me the options.
